How To Spell 'Hamster'

Not only have Hampton and the Hampsters built an asbestos shitcastle of music video output, they have also got people thinking there's a 'p' in hamster. There is not.

For those who have not heard of Hampton and the Hampsters, they are a group of four musical cartoon rodents, who make videos and DVDs and occasionally lay fresh tracks. Hampton and the Hampster  creators have tried to explain away their copyright spelling error, with the spurious claim that Hampton, Fuzzy, Hado, and Dixie do not take ordinary spelling because they are 'not ordinary hamsters'. Apparently, they are a bit too special for normal spelling because they 'play in a band' and because they 'share personal information'. (Tell that to our childhood hamster Ricardo, who devoted the final days of his life to spelling out his three last words, "WHAT A RIDE!", in the incomparably personal medium of hamster braille-turds.)

But anyone who has made the effort to meet and greet Hampton and the Hampsters will agree that no band of rodents could possibly be less worthy of the elevated social status that comes with an extra species-name consonant. Especially since Belinda Carlisle has never got to be a humpan even though she plays in a band and shares personal information .

And in conclusion, there is no 'p' in hamster.
